An Lanntair is looking for artists to apply for two visual arts commissions based around the bus routes of the Isles of Lewis and Harris.
Artwork produced is to be installed and exhibited in the iconic concrete bus shelters on the island.
Call for proposals:
Artists are invited to submit proposals to ‘Mapping the Arteries’. Mapping the Arteries is a commission in which the artist is asked to produce a piece of artwork inspired by a bus route around Lewis and Harris that the artist chooses.
The artist will spend a time travelling the bus route gaining inspiration for their final piece. Selected artists will also mentor a young artist who will also be producing artwork around the same theme.
Two commissions will be available for this project.
Submission details:
Artists should send CV and a short proposal including:
Introduction to your practice.
Your proposal detailing art form, materials and installation details.
Information on your experience relevant to this commission, including your experience or suitability to provide mentoring to young artists.
Deadline for proposals: 7th December 2015
Announcement of successful application(s): 21st December 2015
Successful applicants should have their work ready for the beginning of March 2016
