ART LABS

 

Art Labs are art spaces set up in four geographically remote locations across the Isles of Lewis and Harris, The labs are in Uig, Ness, Harris, and Bragar. Located at community venues in key specified locations and equipped with materials and equipment the art labs provide access to a wide range of art forms. Young people have access to all traditional art materials as well as state of the art digital imaging hardware and software including Go Pro cameras, video cameras, scanners and printers.

Local freelance artists have been employed to oversee the weekly group meetings in each area and provide support and training. This is a wonderful opportunity for young people throughout Lewis and Harris to gain access to creative learning, develop new skills and exhibit their work.

The project aims to empower young people through creativity and learning and provide an opportunity for young people in the Western Isles to have a real say in arts delivery and provision.
